Trees for Sets

When your in the realm of Sunday school and children creating fun sets are a must! During our Creative Arts Camp we made Happy Trees and Scary Trees. Our dear friend Jeremy designed our Scary Trees. In the end our ultimate goal was to create an atmosphere that fostered a magical experience for our little ones. I say dream outside of the box.

Here are the start to finish in photos!

Jeremy created wooden frames and wrapped the frames in canvas.  We then painted our trees with brown Oops paint (abandoned paint at Home Depot very inexpensive). The branches were made out of styrofoam that Jeremy cut down with an electric knife and attached with wood glue. We painted the branches brown and spray painted them with glitter.  Part of the magic is in the sets you create and in this case we wanted to create a feeling that the children were walking in through the wardrobe to Narnia. I think the mission was accomplished
